Huys Egmont is a stone's throw from the beach, the sea and the dunes and offers a pleasant alternative when the weather is less so. We are close to the provincial road between Alkmaar and Castricum (N512) and are therefore easily accessible.
The visitor center is located in a former school (1959) and town hall (1871) in the Slotweg in Egmond aan den Hoef. Right opposite the bridge to the foundations of the old castle of the lords of Egmond.
Local traffic
From Egmond aan Zee, Bergen, Heiloo and Castricum, follow the signs for Egmond aan den Hoef and drive through the village center via Herenweg. Turn right into Slotweg and you will find Huys Egmont after 400 meters on your right.
Route via Amsterdam (A9)
Follow the signs to Haarlem / Alkmaar (A9).When you arrive at Alkmaar, take exit 12 (Den Helder/Heiloo) and pass the AFAS Stadium. Take the roundabout three quarters (Ring WEST) and follow the signs for Egmond (N9). Read more at 'From Alkmaar (N9)'.

From Alkmaar (N9)
At Sportcentrum De Meent / MacDonalds, take the exit Egmond (N512). After 6km, at the roundabout, take the first exit (Business Area "De Weidjes"). Immediately take the first left onto the business park (Lamoraalweg), and then the first right (Weg over de Oude Veert). At the end you will find Huys Egmont, around the corner on your left, opposite the foundations of Castle Egmond, or 'Het Slot op den Hoef'.
Parking in the Slotweg
If you come from the business park, turn right at the end of the Weg naar de Oude Veert. You can park there. It is then a 50 meter walk to Huys Egmont.
If you come through the Slotweg, you can park for free at the end, just past the castle foundations. It is then a 50 meter walk to Huys Egmont.
